Reportedly, protesters in Gap, in the French Alps, set fire to a large effigy of Emmanuel Macron and danced around it during France's cost-of-living protests. A sign on the cart read 'Repose pas en paix' ('Do not rest in peace'). Nationwide turnout fell to about 320,000 according to the Interior Ministry, down from previous weeks. Saturday's demonstrations were calmer than prior weekends, though Molotov cocktails were thrown at police in Paris.
